How to use the Random Choice Generator

  1. 01

    Ask the question

Type the small decision that is taking up more attention than it deserves.

  2. 02

    Add your choices

Enter two or more options. Every choice gets an equal chance unless you turn on weights.

  3. 03

    Notice the result

Accept the pick, try again, or use your reaction to notice what you actually wanted.

Fair choices, clear probabilities

Every eligible option has an equal chance unless you intentionally turn on weighted choices. FunRandomizer uses the secure random number generator built into your browser.

Use it for the small stuff

Choose from your dinner shortlist

Enter Pizza, Tacos, and Pasta after checking that everyone can eat them. Equal mode gives each option one third of the chance; this picker does not search for recipes or restaurants.

Pick a movie you can already watch

Paste three titles your group has agreed on and draw one. For suggestions filtered by mood and runtime instead of your own list, use What Should I Watch.

Start one independent task

Enter tasks you can do in any order, such as sorting a drawer, watering plants, or folding laundry. Remove anything that depends on finishing another task first.

Choose an available outing

Add the park, museum, or cafe only after checking opening times, travel, and cost. The generator picks your text entry; it does not check venue availability.

Choose a starting player

Enter the people playing and draw one person to start. To publish every player’s turn in advance, use Random Order Generator rather than repeated single picks.

Keep important decisions human

Medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or irreversible decisions need judgment and relevant information. Use a random choice generator only when every listed option is acceptable.

Random Choice Generator FAQ

Is FunRandomizer’s random choice generator really random?

Yes. FunRandomizer uses the secure random number generator built into your browser. In equal mode, every eligible choice has the same probability of being selected.

Can I give some choices a higher chance?

Yes. Open Advanced options and turn on weighted choices. With Pizza weighted 2, Tacos 1, and Pasta 1, the odds are 50%, 25%, and 25% when all three are eligible. A weight is a share of the total, not a promised number of wins.

Can I use this as a yes or no decision maker?

Yes. Choose the Yes / No preset, add an optional question, and select Decide for me.

Can I stop the same option appearing twice in a row?

Yes. Turn on Prevent immediate repeats when at least two choices are available. This excludes the last result from the next draw; it does not give every option a turn before any repeats. With only two options, it makes the results alternate.

Are my questions and choices saved?

Your current setup and recent results stay in this browser. FunRandomizer does not require an account and does not upload your decision list.

Can I share a decision?

Yes. Share the current setup with a link, or include the selected result in the share text.

Should I use a random choice generator for important choices?

No. Medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or irreversible decisions need judgment, evidence, and the preferences of the people affected. Use randomness only when every option is acceptable.
