Copy a column of student names from your spreadsheet and paste it into Group Generator. Select By groups or People per group, set the number, and generate. This tool uses pasted names; file import is available in the name picker and seating tool, not in the group generator.

Pasted names and local CSV imports are processed in your browser. Google Sheets URL import needs a publicly viewable link, so use paste or a local CSV for private student lists instead of changing their sharing permissions. Check exported charts before distributing them.
